Overview
Episode 4 of "Because it’s Mercedes-Benz" focuses on the sensory world of luxury and comfort. We explored the high-end Dolby Atmos sound systems and the exclusive interior fragrancing unique to Mercedes-Benz. The objective was to make the invisible visible: translating the immersive experience of a concert-hall-quality sound system and the subtle luxury of scent into a vibrant, engaging visual narrative that appeals to all senses.
Challenges & Approach
The creative challenge was to visualize the intangible—sound and scent. To achieve this, director Oliver Wergers chose a deliberate, slower editing pace. Unlike the faster episodes, this installment was designed to function like a soothing massage or a meditation, allowing the audience to truly immerse themselves in the atmosphere. We captured charming and high-energy sequences of our hosts, Becky and Elli, reacting to the various music genres, while utilizing abstract imagery to evoke the brand's signature scents. This "slow-cinema" approach prioritized sensory perception and rhythm over rapid-fire action.
The result
The result is a beautifully calm and sophisticated episode that perfectly mirrors the feeling of a Mercedes-Benz interior. By focusing on a tranquil rhythm and stunning visuals, we successfully translated the brand’s comfort features into a meditative experience. The chemistry between Becky and Elly, combined with the artistic visualization of the fragrances, created a standout episode that allowed the viewers to "breathe" while exploring the high-tech soul of the vehicle.
