Overview
We were commissioned for an exclusive footage production featuring the brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLC at the Rastatt plant, well before its official world premiere. Unlike a traditional campaign, this was a pure footage project designed to create a high-end visual library. The material serves as a cinematic resource for future global productions and agencies, ensuring that even raw content meets the highest aesthetic standards of the brand.
Challenges & Approach
The logistical challenge was immense: only four or five of the new GLC models were produced during the entire filming period. We had to be at the exact right place at the right time within the assembly line to capture these rare moments. To ensure this "raw" material was immediately usable for premium campaigns, we utilized our signature anamorphic optics. This was a deliberate choice to elevate standard production footage to a cinematic level. We focused on capturing the car’s design and assembly with a level of visual sophistication that is rarely found in traditional b-roll, proving that even foundational content can benefit from a high-end artistic approach.
The result
The project was a significant success and opened up a new avenue for our collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. By delivering footage that looks like a finished film right out of the camera, we provided the brand with a versatile and future-proof asset. This production demonstrated our ability to work under high pressure and strict confidentiality, while successfully setting a new benchmark for how production footage is captured and utilized within the automotive industry.
